Tawny Sitting Bear has been the procurement manager at Elbowoods since 2017. Her Hidatsa name is Yellow Corn Woman, given to her by her grandpa, Francis Young. Sitting Bear was born and raised on the Fort Berthold Reservation. She’s an enrolled member of the MHA Nation and is Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara, Cree, and Assiniboine Sioux. She is a Knife Clan member and a descendant of the Xxoshga band from her great-great-grandfather, Crows Flies High’s side.

Her previous work experience includes supply operations with the Three Affiliated Tribes and the US Marine Corps. While in the Marines in Okinawa, Japan, she received a letter of commendation from the commanding general of the 1st Marine Air Wing for earning the most outstanding audit results of all the units.
