Kathryn R. Eagle-Williams, CEO, MD, MPH (Red Cedar Women) is an enrolled member of the Arikara of Three Affiliated Tribes, but her bloodline is Santee. She was born and raised in White Shield, ND, and is the daughter of June (Fox) Eagle and Thomas (Tookies) Young Eagle, Jr. and the granddaughter of the late Robert and Naomi Fox and Thomas and Veronica Eagle, Sr. Dr. Eagle-Williams grew up in White Shield until her mother graduated from nursing school and was transplanted to Arizona. She then graduated from a high school on the White Mountain Apache Reservation and married into the White Mountain Apache Tribe. She makes her home in New Town, ND, on the MHA Nation. Eagle-Williams is the mother/grandmother of three beautiful children and grandchildren. She received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Arizona in 2002 and a Master’s in Public Health Policy and Management. She has worked with the WMAT Division of Health Programs, Johns Hopkins University, the University of California Los Angeles, and the University of Arizona College of Medicine Arizona Respiratory Center.
Dr. Eagle-Williams has 22 years of experience in American Indian Health, including public health and research. She moved home to North Dakota in 2012 to assist with her people's health needs. Dr. Eagle-Williams oversees a Public Law 93-638 contract for the MHA Nation and is the administrator for five ambulatory care clinics. She feels it’s an honor to work on behalf of her tribe.
